Susy has more than 11 years of architecture experience. She’s an expert in the creation and implementation of Architecture BIM Standards, and has extensive knowledge of New York City documentation requirements and multifamily Revit workflows.
Her hands-on experience as an architect is what makes her so skilled at identifying inefficiencies in her clients’ digital practices. When she worked in an architecture firm, she was frustrated by the fact that BIM specialists would come in and solve a short-term problem, but not impart the knowledge and tools to help people adapt to the next challenge. She began to envision a more sustainable and empowering model of BIM support and co-founded 4 Ideal Design (4iD) in 2016.
From the start, she understood that it was necessary to be in day-to-day contact with employees, so that 4iD could identify areas for growth and incrementally raise proficiency. Susy has refined the digital practices of firms with hundreds of employees working in multiple cities. She conducts research to provide customized solutions for maximizing the efficiencies of BIM and Revit. She bridges the gap between the designer and the technical staff, creating a collaborative approach that accomplishes great architecture.
A passionate educator, she’s a faculty member at the New York School of Interior Design. She cares about improving peoples’ lives and skill sets, one reason she recently gave back by teaching construction workers how to read construction documents in Spanish through a collaboration with a technical school. She says, “We want every trainee to gain independence and adaptability.”
