Interior design students already understand concepts like hierarchy, rhythm, scale, texture, materiality, and layering. This session explores how those same design principles are expressed through light, using visual examples to demonstrate how lighting shapes perception, directs attention, reinforces movement, and unifies a design. Whether or not participants pursue a career in lighting design, they will leave with a new way of seeing space and a deeper understanding of light as a powerful design material.
